I had a great Birthday this past weekend! Even though I was ending my Les Mills 21 Day Food Challenge (official day 21 today!) – I made pretty healthy decisions at two great restaurants Friday/Saturday night.
My parents took Colby and I out Friday night for dinner. I decided on mussels as an appetizer! YUM and a salad with grilled salmon. No bread from the bread basket! Woo hoo! I did have some of my Mom’s calamari. Colby and I split a chocolate mousse dessert that was a little too rich for me, but I ate it anyway. I missed chocolate SO MUCH on this 21 day challenge! I had a few small pieces of Brookside chocolate covered berries a few days ago, but that was about it.
Colby took me out Saturday night to my favorite local French restaurant. It was amazing. I had a mushroom appetizer on risotto and a salad with grilled shrimp. I love ordering salads at restaurants. For some reason, doesn’t a salad always taste better when someone else makes it for you??
Sunday was my Birthday and I had set up to film myself teaching BODYFLOW that morning. I figured my Birthday would bring me good luck! My Mom came to film it and I had two yoga instructors and other friends come to my class. I needed 5 people for the filming and I had 7. I wanted to take a picture at the beginning, but I was too nervous and forgot. I got some of my friends for a picture at the end!

My video couldn’t have gone any better! I remembered everything! The sound levels were good. I’m always worried my mic isn’t loud enough for BODYFLOW but it was fine. I really went for it with my technique, trying to be perfect. I can definitely feel it in my muscles today!!
If any of you have submitted instructor assessment videos to Les Mills on their website, you know it can be frustrating. With an hour video, file sizes can be very large. Luckily, I got my 3GB video uploaded and submitted it last night! I will find out in two weeks or less if my video makes me an official BODYFLOW instructor!
I also signed up for my first Advanced Instructor Module (AIM 1) for BODYPUMP!!! There is one two hours away, it is one day (8am-6pm) and I’m so excited. Les Mills offers these for instructors that have been certified for 6+ months. I’m going on two years for BODYPUMP, so I know I am ready for it. They also have AIM 2 that can be taken 6+ months after AIM 1. I CAN’T WAIT!!

I’ll be honest… December was kind of a bust for me. Things started off strong. I was so excited to announce on the blog that I had signed up for BODYFLOW training (Dec. 13-14)!! Things didn’t work out :( Re-scheduled for Jan. 17-18th!

I was excited to decorate for Christmas at the beginning of December. Things were going well, until I got a NASTY stomach flu. This was right around Colby’s Birthday – he ended up taking me to the Dr that day. I was so dehydrated, I had to get an IV right away. I was miserable and weak, so I didn’t get to go to my BODYFLOW training. Up until December, I was running … A LOT. Sometimes you get sick and take a month off running. I’m not too upset over it… I’m on a non-running streak. I haven’t ran since December 1st!! I will kick it back in soon.
I love this little girl. She had a great first Christmas :)
We also got a “new” (2010) car in December! I’ve wanted a Toyota Prius for a long time and I am loving it!
I got some new Reebok Les Mills gear for Christmas too. I usually teach in old Brooks running shoes, but these new studio shoes make it so much easier to teach CXWORX. They are still a little slippery for BODYPUMP, but they’re new.

Our baby finally had her operation to get fixed. It broke my heart dropping her off. We had to wait because our vet wanted her to weigh a little more. When she was 6 months, she was still only 4 lbs. She weighs 6 now, so it was less risky. My princess is doing well. Lots of naps and trying to keep her from jumping around.
BODYFLOW training! Rescheduled it for January 17-18, so I get some extra study time. I signed up, because the training I found in December was fairly close. I’ve been wanting to get certified in Les Mills – BODYFLOW/BODYBALANCE so it just seemed to work out. Since I got sick, I had to find another training that would be on the same release (67) so I didn’t have to learn everything over. I had to get a hotel for the January training, but I’m excited. This will be my 3RD Les Mills certification (BODYPUMP ’13, CXWORX ’14 and BODYFLOW ’15) No more after this… I promise!
