Tuesday Workout: 45 minute “Detox Yoga #1” from YogaDownload.com
After school I had the best of intentions to run 4-5 miles. I decided to take some time away from BodyPump this week. I haven’t been there in awhile and I’m just going to pick up my Tuesday/Thursday classes again when my half marathon is over. So I should have been able to come home and run right away today, but it didn’t happen. I was exhausted and knew that tonight was my only chance at a nap. So Rocky and I took a nap after school and I tried not to feel guilty. I will be able to run Wednesday/Thursday this week, so I will be fine running my two mid-week runs I’ve been doing for the past month.
To make myself feel better, I decided to do a YogaDownload session and really stretch my legs/hips. I really love this website and found it from Jen @ Peanut Butter Runner. I have yoga DVDs, but always enjoy these sessions so much more. The picture above is one of the poses from the Detox Yoga #1 session. It felt amazing on my IT band and the entire session had me twisting my body.

This was the twist version of the pigeon pose I liked so much from the Detox workout. Some of the poses were a little hard for me, but I liked that they gave you a modified pose option. I actually prefer the sessions that have slides because I can just glance at my computer screen a bit and understand what I should be doing. I find the videos to be distracting because I am trying to watch everything. Workouts that are only audio always have pdf pose guides that you can follow. Usually it takes me a few times to follow the audio only workouts but they are still nice. You can usually try a 20 minute workout for free, so you can always try it out before you purchase a 30, 45 or 60 minute session. Sometimes the 20 minute ones are perfect for when you are short on time.
