I just woke up from sleeping 14 hours. Yes, 14. I’ll explain, but first look at my pretty omelet! I’m usually horrible at making omelets but this one turned out alright. I was starving after sleeping forever so I made one with two eggs and extra egg white with mushrooms, onion, broccoli and some Daiya “cheese”. I made a green smoothie with almond milk, ice, spinach, frozen banana, frozen strawberries and blueberries.
Colby, his brother and I woke up Saturday morning at 1:15AM and drove to his parent’s house. The boys got all their boat stuff and we left for Maryland around 2:00AM. Colby goes crabbing with his family all the time and has been trying to get me to go forever. I knew it wouldn’t be so cold so I thought this was the weekend for my first trip.
The boys bated their crab traps in the dark and I tried to take a few pictures for them. I was running on about 2 hours of sleep because I went to bed after 11pm the night before.
I was ready to go with my barbie beach towel.
They got the boat into the water and we were out around 6AM. I had big plans of taking lots of pictures for them, but I was scared stiff. That little boat scared me so much and I sat paralyzed while they worked. Then I was scared of the crabs when they pulled them into the boat because they were so fast if they fell out of the basket! I survived and we went back to his parents house that afternoon. They guys were happy because they caught their limit of crabs with two bushel baskets. They steamed them and we ate a few. I’m not scared of the crabs once they are steamed!
Live Maryland blue crabs.
We got home around 5PM and I felt so dirty I took a shower right away. We both fell asleep around 6:30PM! I couldn’t believe I stayed asleep for 14 hours! I really want to run today, but I refuse to run outside in the middle of the day when it is almost 100 degrees. I tried the other day and it was horrible. I could go to the gym and get on a treadmill, but I might just go for some yoga or pilates in the air conditioning 🙂
